About this generation

The Tatra 111R was the extensively reconstructed final-generation version of the Tatra 111 introduced in 1953. It received a new all-metal cab with characteristically negatively sloped windshields, a modernized Tatra 111A diesel engine and several chassis and body improvements. The 111R became the principal later production version of the 111 and remained in production until the model was succeeded by the Tatra 138.
