Overview
The 14.8-litre Tatra 111A air-cooled V12 diesel was introduced in 1953 with the reconstructed Tatra 111R. It produced 180 hp at 1800 rpm and approximately 726 Nm. The engine retained the characteristic Tatra air-cooled V12 architecture while replacing the earlier chain-driven cooling-fan arrangement with belt-driven fans and incorporating other reliability improvements.
