About this generation

The 2008 Volvo FH received major drivetrain updates, improved efficiency and Euro 5-compliant engines while retaining the proven cab introduced in 2002.

Introduced in 2008, this update focused primarily on performance, fuel economy and emissions rather than exterior styling. Volvo introduced revised D11C and D13C engines with improved combustion technology, higher torque and lower fuel consumption. The generation also benefited from further refinements to I-Shift, making it one of the most advanced heavy-duty transmissions available.
