About this generation
The first-generation Volvo FH introduced an all-new aerodynamic cab, the advanced D12A engine and modern electronics, setting a new benchmark for heavy-duty trucks.
Introduced in 1993 after seven years of development, the Volvo FH replaced the legendary Volvo F series. It featured a completely redesigned cab with improved aerodynamics, driver comfort and safety. The new D12A engine introduced overhead camshaft technology, four valves per cylinder and electronic unit injectors, making it one of the most advanced heavy-duty diesel engines of its time.
