About this generation

The first-generation Mercedes-Benz Econic was introduced in 1998 as a dedicated low-floor special truck for urban operations. Its low-entry cab, excellent visibility and practical layout made it particularly suited to waste collection, municipal services and other applications requiring frequent cab access.
