L Series
Introduced 1949
The post-war Mercedes-Benz L Series grouped the marque's bonneted medium and heavy trucks, including the long- and short-bonnet families that rebuilt its road-freight range before forward-control cabs became dominant.
LP Series
Introduced 1963
The Mercedes-Benz LP Series was the marque's cubic-cab forward-control truck family, spanning light, medium and heavy classes and directly preceding the NG in the upper weight classes and the later Light Class at the lower end.
New Generation (NG)
Introduced 1973
Mercedes-Benz's New Generation, or NG, established the modular forward-control medium- and heavy-truck architecture introduced in 1973 and subsequently developed into the MK and SK classes.
LK
Introduced 1984
Mercedes-Benz LK was introduced in 1984 as the brand's light-duty truck range.
