Overview

The 11.8-litre Tatra T928 air-cooled V8 diesel was developed specifically for the Tatra 138 and became its standard production engine. It produces 180 hp at 2000 rpm and approximately 720 Nm at 1200 rpm. The engine retained Tatra's characteristic air-cooled V8 architecture while offering improved economy and lower weight compared with the earlier Tatra 111A V12.
