About this generation
The first-generation Volvo FM was introduced in 1998 as a versatile heavy-duty truck positioned below the FH. Sharing much of its chassis and driveline technology with its larger sibling, the FM featured a lower cab for easier access and excellent manoeuvrability. It quickly became a popular choice for regional distribution, construction, tanker transport and vocational applications.
