About this generation

The Tatra 815 was introduced in 1983 as the new heavy-duty successor to the Tatra 148 and 813. It introduced a new modular design while retaining Tatra's characteristic backbone chassis, independent swing-axle suspension and air-cooled modular engine family. The range covered road transport, construction, mining, military and extreme off-road applications.
