About this generation
The Tatra 163 Jamal was introduced in 1997 as a heavy-duty construction and mining truck derived from the Tatra 815 platform. It featured a distinctive forward-mounted cab and conventional bonnet layout while retaining Tatra's backbone chassis and independent suspension. The Jamal was developed primarily for quarrying, construction and other demanding off-road applications.
